Currently there is a limitation with how GuildCare processes a prescription record into medAdvisor where script records are passed to medAdvisor when a script is initially dispensed in the first instance. If a prescription is edited, the updated script record will not be passed  to medAdvisor. To ensure the accuracy of data shown to patients, it is recommended that if an edit is required to a script already dispensed, the script be cancelled and re-dispensed(rather than simply editing).

Alternatively, if you need to edit a script after it is dispensed and you decide not to cancel the Rx, you are advised to look up and check the record in medAdvisor for that patient, and update with any changes you have made. It is particularly important that any change made to the script instructions after dispense is updated in medAdvisor, using the “override instructions” feature – this is the equivalent in medAdvisor of updating the prescription directions in your dispensing software and it ensures the patient sees your edited instruction text in their medAdvisor program.
